AudioNUT is a powerful, yet simple audio player coded in Visual Basic 6. Using the BASS libraries, AudioNUT
can play a variety of file formats. AudioNUT is an open source project, meaning you can download and modify it yourself.
Supported Audio Files
A large portion of AudioNUT was designed and coded on an old Pentium 200, so it'll probably run fine on almost anything.

- Supports gapless playback for LAME encoded MP3s, Ogg Vorbis, Musepack, WAV and Lossless formats.
- This means continuously mixed albums (Pink Floyd, Tool) and live albums will have no gaps between the tracks.
- AudioNUT stores playlists, media databases and configuration settings for each user profile in Windows.

- Memory: Depends on the OS and number of files in playlist/library. The program itself uses around 8-16MB RAM
- OS (Lite): Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Vista/Vista x64/2008/2008 x64
- OS (Full): Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista
- DirectX: DirectX 8 (Windows 95) / DirectX 9 (Others)
- Other: Soundcard, 800x600 32 Bit Display
Media Library
- Browse all your artists, albums and songs in the Media Library.
- Build playlists using the library by double-clicking the album or song(s) you want to add.
- Load and save libraries.
- Inbuilt WAV-Writing
- Supports most stdin capable encoders (LAME, OGGENC, FAAC, FLAC, etc).
- Supports non-stdin capable encoders (iTunesEncode, AACEnc32, etc).
- Supports encoder tag switches.
- Built-in support for 7 encoders, including OGGEnc2 (bundled), LAME, FLAC, WavPack,
- Musepack, iTunesEncode, Nero AAC and Helix MP3.
Extensive Metadata support
- UTF8 Tag Read support for M4A, APEv1, APEv2, FLAC and Vorbis tags
- Reads iTunes M4A tags
